Dec. 6, 2022 5:15 am
At an upcoming Sober CR mocktail class, attendees can learn how to tap into a world of cocktails without alcohol. The Smoked Kojito cocktail, seen at Unimpaired Dry Bar in Iowa City, is just one example of what’s possible. (Savannah Blake/The Gazette)
CEDAR RAPIDS — Sober CR, a community of adult nondrinkers, invites the public to learn how to make alcohol-free mocktail drinks for any occasion — including healthier lifestyle resolutions as a new year approaches.
Old Neighborhood Pub will host the informal event from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 13. There, pub owner Draya VanHoeck will go over the essentials of a mocktail, from the glass, mixology and aroma to bouquet, presentation and culture of cocktails.
Online RSVPs are encouraged via Sober CR’s Facebook group.
