Chipotle location coming to Coralville

CORALVILLE — Cravings for Chipotle burrito bowls, chips and guacamole will be easier to satisfy once a location opens on Coralville’s north side.

The proposed location just off Coral Ridge Avenue would be a stand-alone drive-thru restaurant at 3260 Redhawk Street. It would be located next to Redhawk Dental Care and across the street from Jersey Mike’s Subs and Foundry Food and Tap.

The location will only offer online order pickup and not drive-thru ordering. There will not be an ordering station or menu.

The Coralville City Council on Tuesday approved the first consideration of the rezoning to make way for the project. The council needs to approve the rezoning two more times before the rezoning is made final.

The 2,337 square foot restaurant will be located on a 1.88 acre site.

Thirty parking stalls will be provided, as well as a bike rack. There will be an outdoor patio on the east side of the building.

Current Chipotle locations in the area include downtown Iowa City and at Lindale Mall in Cedar Rapids.
