COGGON — No one was injured Saturday after a vacant house near Coggon caught fire during a brush burn, according to the Linn County Sheriff's Office.
The owners of the acreage in the 5800 block of Quality Ridge Road had a burn permit for brush and were burning an area north of the vacant house on their land, which is about 1.5 miles west of Coggon. The owners contacted authorities after winds caused the fire to spread to the house.
Emergency responders found the structure fully engulfed when they arrived. The house is considered a total loss.
