Iowa State’s Xavier Hutchinson, Will McDonald named first-team all-Big 12
Both are 3-time first-teamers

AMES — Iowa State seniors Xavier Huchinson and Will McDonald have been named first-team all-Big 12 Conference by the league’s football coaches.
A total of 13 Cyclones received postseason honors.
Hutchinson and McDonald captured first-team honors for the third time in their careers, joining Greg Eisworth and Charlie Kolar as the only three-time first-teamers in school history.

A wide receiver from Jacksonville, Fla., Hutchinson capped his career with another record-setting season. He led the Big 12 in receptions (107), receptions per game (8.9), receiving yards (1,171) and receiving yards per game (97.6) He broke his own single-season receptions mark and topped the Iowa State career mark (254).
McDonald, a defensive end from Milwaukee, is Iowa State’s career record holder for sacks (34.0). He also tied the Big 12 career record this season. He finished with 5.0 sacks to go along with 36 tackles, 7.5 of which were behind the line of scrimmage for a loss.
Offensive lineman Trevor Downing, defensive backs Anthony Johnson and T.J. Tampa, and fullback Jared Rus earned second-team honors.
M.J. Anderson, Jeremiah Cooper, Hunter Dekkers, Beau Freyler, Myles Purchase, Colby Reeder and O’Rien Vance earned honorable mention.
