AMES — Iowa State has lost one of its most versatile women’s basketball players to the transfer portal.
Lexi Donarski — the 2022 Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year — will look to play elsewhere for her senior season. Iowa State sports information confirmed the news of Donarski’s transfer, which was first reported by The Des Moines Register.
The former five-star recruit and McDonald’s All-American averaged 12.1 points and shot a career-low 31.8 percent from 3-point range last season. The talented guard started all 94 games of her Cyclone career and earned All-Big 12 Tournament honors earlier this month as ISU strung together wins over Baylor, Oklahoma and Texas to win the event for the first time in 22 years.
