Three arrested in Cedar Rapids shooting
Three people, including two suspects, suffered non-life-threatening injuries

CEDAR RAPIDS — Three people have been arrested after a shooting that left three people, including two of those arrested, with non-life-threatening injuries.
Officers were dispatched to a disturbance involving a firearm in the 1900 block of Bever Avenue SE on the afternoon of July 31.
The people involved are related to each other or had a former relationship, police said.

Lamel Lamont Brandon, 45, was arrested on charges of felon in possession of a firearm, going armed with intent and intimidation with a weapon.
Darius Lamel Howard Brandon, 27, was arrested on a charge of going armed with intent. He suffered a graze wound and was evaluated at a hospital.
The Brandons were accused of intending to use a firearm against Jeremy Dell Hepker, according to criminal complaints.
Hepker, 36, was charged with going armed with intent and intimidation with a weapon.
He suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a hospital by ambulance.
A 25-year-old woman suffered injuries in the incident and was transported to the hospital.
All three suspects were transported to the Linn County Correctional Center.
Going armed with intent and possession of a firearm by a felon are Class D felonies punishable by up to five years in prison.
Intimidation with a weapon is a Class C felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
