Police investigating two shots-fired incidents in southeast Cedar Rapids

CEDAR RAPIDS — Police are investigating two shots-fired incidents that occurred Thursday in southeast Cedar Rapids.
The Cedar Rapids Police Department said 911 dispatchers fielded multiple calls just before 4 p.m. about shots being fired in the 2700 block of Bever Avenue SE.
Police said witnesses reported a person was shooting out of a vehicle at another vehicle. No arrests have been made.

Around 5:52 p.m., Cedar Rapids joint communications received multiple calls about shots being fired in the area of Ninth Street and 15th Avenue SW.
Police said witnesses pointed out a vehicle that was parked nearby as a vehicle that was involved in the shooting.
A gun was found nearby in some bushes, police said.
In both incidents, officers found 9 mm shell casings in the roadway.
Officers stopped two people of interest who were questioned, but no arrests have been made.
