‘Multiple’ people hurt in shooting at Ramada in southwest Cedar Rapids

CEDAR RAPIDS — “Multiple” people were shot and injured Friday night at the Ramada by Wyndham hotel in southwest Cedar Rapids, authorities said.

Cedar Rapids police provided few details, but said those injured were taken to the hospital with what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries.

Police received a report about 10:30 p.m. about gunshots at the hotel, 525 33rd Ave. SW. In a short news release, police did not say if the shooting took place inside or outside the hotel, how many people were hurt or whether a suspect had been detained.

The department said the investigation is ongoing.
