Mollie Tibbetts trial live: Day 2 testimony continues in Cristhian Bahena Rivera’s murder trial

Jurors will continue to hear testimony from prosecution witnesses on Thursday as the trial in Mollie Tibbetts’ slaying enters its second day in the courtroom.

Dalton Jack, Tibbetts’ longtime boyfriend, was a key witness on the first day of the first-degree murder trial of Cristhian Bahena Rivera, 26, the Mexican national charged in her killing.

Jack testified Wednesday that he had nothing to do with her 2018 abduction and stabbing death, saying he had been out of town for work and was heartbroken by her slaying.

The trial is being held at the Scott County Courthouse in Davenport, where it was moved on a change of venue. Because of pandemic concerns, the public is not allowed to attend in-person.
