CEDAR RAPIDS — A Marion man was arrested early Wednesday after shots were fired after a domestic disturbance call at an apartment complex on 16th Avenue SW.
Jeremiah Deshonte Taylor, 25, is charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm, trafficking stolen weapons, assault while displaying a dangerous weapon, first-degree harassment and fifth-degree criminal mischief.
Police arrived at the complex at 2:11 a.m. after a woman called 911 and left the line open so the dispatcher could hear a man threatening the woman, according to a news release from the Cedar Rapids Police Department.

The woman said the man was armed with a handgun and, when he left the apartment, the woman said she heard gunshots outside.
The woman told police Taylor had pointed a gun at her head and threatened her life. She said he also broke a coffee maker and kicked a hole in her bathroom door when he was in her apartment, according to the criminal complaint.
Officers found shell casings in the building’s parking lot and a gun nearby that matched the shell casings. The gun had been reported stolen in Red Wing, Minn.
Taylor is being held in the Linn County Jail on a $20,000 cash or surety bond.
