Man shot Friday in SE Cedar Rapids

CEDAR RAPIDS - A 25-year-old man was shot Friday morning in southeast Cedar Rapids.
According to the Cedar Rapids Police Department, officers responded about 9:40 a.m. to a report of gunshots near Bever Avenue SE and 20th Street SE but found no evidence of anyone shot or damaged property.
A short time later, a hospital notified police that a man was being treated for a gunshot wound to the back, Public Safety Spokesperson Greg Buelow said. The man has been released from the hospital, Buelow said.

Based on the investigation, police said they believe the shooting was not random.
The police department said the investigation is ongoing.
