N/A
Aug. 16, 2012 7:50 am
A man intoxicated on the synthetic drug K2 was found lying in the middle of 16th Avenue SW Wednesday night, officials said.
Officials are still trying to sort through the details of events that led to a man lying in the middle of the street in front of Autozone, 1605 16th Ave. SW, at around 10 p.m. Wednesday
The man was "extremely intoxicated" on K2 and officials said he wasn't making any sense when they transported him to Mercy Hospital in an ambulance. The man was apparently in a car with his girlfriend when he asked her to pull over near Autozone. He got out of the car and was later spotted by a passerby lying in the middle of the road.
Officials said the man was not placed under arrest immediately Wednesday night.
Police were unsure whether the man's girlfriend was under the influence of any drugs or alcohol and tested her sobriety on the scene of the incident to determine whether she was able to drive.
Officials tend to a man found lying in the middle of 16th Ave SW late on Wednesday, August 15, 2012. Police said the man was 'extremely intoxicated' on K2. (Sam Lane/The Gazette)
