Iowa City police use 2 armored vehicles in search related to recent shootings

IOWA CITY — Iowa City police used two armored vehicles to serve a search warrant at 1019 Carver St. on Thursday morning.
The warrant, served by the Iowa City Metro Special Response Team at about 7:45 a.m., was related to recent shootings, police said in a news release.
The armored vehicles were borrowed from the Cedar Rapids Police Department and the Linn County Sheriff’s Office and were driven by officials from those departments, police said.

No additional information was released about charges or items seized.
