An Iowa City man has been arrested on charges that he threatened his wife with a gun during an argument and fired two shots inside their house with two children present.
Dakota Jobe Meyer, 26, is charged with intimidation with a dangerous weapon, two counts of child endangerment and domestic abuse assault-first offense.
Meyer was reportedly arguing with his wife early April 30 about his drinking. According to a criminal complaint, he started waving around his Springfield .45 firearm and told his wife he was going to either kill himself or her during the argument.

Officers arriving at the scene heard two gunshots from inside the house and found a shell casing in close proximity to a sleeping baby. The baby was one of two children inside the house when the shots were fired, the complaint states.
The wife told police she was in fear for her safety and the safety of her children.
Meyer admitted to police he discharged the firearm inside the house, according to the complaint.
Meyer had his first appearance Monday and was released from the Johnson County Jail after posting a $10,000 surety bond.
