Iowa City man arrested after armed robbery

IOWA CITY — An Iowa City man faces possible prison time after an armed robbery.
According to Iowa City police criminal complaints, officers were called to the 900 block of Iowa Avenue at 3:49 a.m. April 10 for a report of an armed robbery. Officers were given a description of two suspects, including one who was allegedly carrying a small handgun.
Police found Marlon T. Coleman, 21, at the intersection of Washington and Lucas streets. Police said Coleman was carrying several items stolen in the robbery, including a laptop, iPad and headphones. A stolen handgun also was found near where officers had found Coleman, police said.

Officers brought Coleman back to the scene of the robbery and the victim positively identified him as the suspect.
Coleman was arrested and faces charges of first-degree robbery and first-degree burglary, both Class B felonies punishable by up to 25 years in prison. He also faces charges of trafficking in stolen weapons, a Class C felony; third-degree burglary and fifth-degree theft. He remains in custody at the Johnson County Jail.
