Iowa City man accused in 2 robberies

IOWA CITY — An Iowa City man has been charged in two robberies in the city.
Quentin Latrell Hitchcock, 20, is charged with two counts of second-degree robbery, a Class C felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
In the first robbery, Hitchcock and another person are accused of knocking a person to the ground near Taylor and Sandusky drives around 5:15 p.m. June 21 and taking $350 and an iPhone.

Hitchcock told police he been in a fight with the victim but denied other people were involved, police said.
Hitchcock also was charged in a February robbery at the Quarters apartment complex, 2401 Highway 6, where $2,000 was taken from a person involved in the sale of a controlled substance, police said.
Hitchcock threatened to use a firearm on the victim after taking the money, according to police.
