MARION — A Cedar Rapids man arrested Wednesday on murder charges, reportedly started a verbal fight with the victim and punched him before fatally shooting him, according to a criminal complaint.
Duval Walker, 28, is accused of fatally shooting Cameron Barnes, 32, at Cocktails and Company, 1625 Blairs Ferry Rd., Marion on March 17. He was arrested Wednesday in Waterloo by U.S. Marshals and charged with first-degree murder, possession of a firearm or offensive weapon by a felon and going armed with intent.
According to a criminal complaint, Walker was captured on surveillance video starting a fight with Barnes and then punching him in the face. A fight followed, and Barnes and Walker were separated, the complaint states. Walker then pulled out a hand gun and hid it behind his leg while charged at Barnes, who he shot once, according to the complaint.
