Cedar Rapids police investigating two Tuesday evening shootings

CEDAR RAPIDS — The Cedar Rapids Police Department is investigating two Tuesday evening shots-fired incidents that resulted in non-life-threatening injuries to two people, according to news releases from the department.
Police were called to the area of Third Avenue SE and 16th Street SE about 6:45 p.m. regarding reports of shots fired. Officers found a juvenile in the 300 block of 16th Street SE suffering from a gunshot wound in his foot. He was taken by Area Ambulance to a hospital, where he was treated and released.
At 7:44 p.m., police responded to the 1100 block of C Avenue NW after hearing what sounded like shots fired. Officers found a man suffering from gunshot injuries in his legs. He was taken to a hospital and was treated and released. He was not cooperative with the investigation, police said.

The investigations into both shootings are ongoing. Reports can be given anonymously, and callers may be eligible to receive a financial reward for information.
