Cedar Rapids police investigating Monday morning shooting that injured Terrell Taylor
Shooting victim arrived at hospital 10 minutes later

CEDAR RAPIDS — Cedar Rapids police are investigating a shooting that injured one person.
Officers were called to the 3700 block of Blairs Ferry Road NE around 10:20 a.m. Monday for a report of shots fired. Witnesses reported seeing gunshots fired from a vehicle at a man who was talking in the area, according to a news release.
After getting a description of the vehicle, Hiawatha police stopped a vehicle at Auto Zone, 2935 Blairs Ferry Rd. NE. Cedar Rapids police took the driver into custody. That person is currently being detained, police said.

About 10 minutes after the reported shooting, 30-year-old Terrell H. Taylor arrived at UnityPoint Health-St. Luke’s Hospital with non-life- threatening injuries from the shooting.
After receiving medical treatment, Taylor was taken into custody. There was a warrant through the Iowa City Police Department for his arrest on a charge of second-degree robbery.
The shooting investigation is ongoing, police said.
