Cedar Rapids man charged with sexually abusing 11-year-old

CEDAR RAPIDS -- A Cedar Rapids man was arrested this week on charges that he sexually abused an 11-year-old girl.
Bryan Brady Ruiz, 27, is charged with two counts of second-degree sexual abuse, and one count each of enticing a minor under 13, lascivious acts with a child, indecent exposure and dissemination and exhibition of obscene material to minors.
Ruiz sexually abused the girl between November 2019 and November 2020, when she was 11 years old, according to a criminal complaint.

He sent her messages on her school email account telling her he wanted to have sex with her. He also sent her nude pictures of himself and encouraged her to watch pornography, the complaint states.
A warrant for Ruiz’s arrest was issued Monday and it was served Thursday. He’s currently being held in the Linn County Jail.
