Cedar Rapids man arrested in relation to drive-by shooting

CEDAR RAPIDS — A Cedar Rapids man has been arrested in relation to a drive-by shooting that occurred Saturday in the 100 block of 14th Street NW.
Dennton Makahle Edaburn, 22, is charged with intimidation with a dangerous weapon, going armed with intent, second-degree criminal mischief, reckless use of a firearm, use of a dangerous weapon in the commission of a crime, persons ineligible to carry dangerous weapons, possession of a controlled substance (marijuana), fifth-degree criminal mischief and interference with official acts.
Police believe Edaburn fired a gun toward a home on 14th Street, hitting a car and a window of the house, according to a criminal complaint.

Officers tracked Edaburn to a nearby residence. He was found to be in possession of marijuana, didn’t comply with officers’ commands and resisted arrest, the complaint states.
Edaburn had his first appearance in court Monday and was released from jail after posting a $25,000 surety bond.
