When they arrived, officers encountered a man — later identified as Handley — running from the 1700 block alley between C and D avenues.
Police said officers gave multiple commands for Handley to stop, but he continued running until he was apprehended in front of a residence in the 1700 block of B Avenue NE. Handley refused to identify himself to officers, police said.
Officers found several shell casings and property damage to a residence and an unoccupied vehicle in the 1700 block of C Avenue NE, according to the police department.
Police said no injuries were reported.
