Cedar Rapids man arrested after shots fired incident Tuesday

CEDAR RAPIDS — A Cedar Rapids man was arrested Tuesday after police responded to a shots fired call in the 300 block of Jacolyn Drive SW in Cedar Rapids.
Officers were called to the scene around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday. They found a man suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound, according to a news release from the Cedar Rapids Police Department.
The victim was able to describe the shooter, and told officers that a verbal altercation had turned physical, the release states.

Police located 36-year-old Taylor Deres and detained him after finding evidence related to the shooting, according to the release.
Deres is facing charges of willful injury and use of a dangerous weapon in the commission of a crime. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
