Cedar Rapids man accused of stealing toolboxes from storage garage

CEDAR RAPIDS — A Cedar Rapids man is accused of stealing items worth more than $10,000 and selling them at a pawn shop.
Nathan Goad, 37, is accused of stealing Mac Tool toolboxes and other items from a storage unit at Cedar West Storage in late August, according to a criminal complaint dated Oct. 22.
Goad was identified through surveillance video, as well as by his clothes and the white Chevrolet Blazer he was driving. His driver’s license also is barred.

The items reported stolen are the same items Goad sold to a pawn shop, according to the criminal complaint.
Goad has been in the Linn County Jail since Oct. 8 on other charges.
His most recent charges include first-degree theft, third-degree burglary and driving while barred.
With the new and pending charges, his total bond amount is up to $61,500.
