Cedar Rapids man accused of sexually abusing three children

CEDAR RAPIDS — A Cedar Rapids man was arrested Wednesday on charges that he sexually abused three children over a period of several years.
Silas Paul Griffin, 30, is charged with four counts of second-degree sexual abuse, two counts of third-degree sexual abuse and two counts of lascivious acts with a child, all felonies. He’s also charged with two counts of indecent contact with a child, an aggravated misdemeanor.
Griffin abused one girl multiple times when she was under the age of 12, between 2014 and 2017, according to a criminal complaint. He abused another when she was 12 or 13, in 2021, and he abused the third when she was 10 or 11, in 2021.

A warrant was issued for Griffin’s arrest on Monday, and he was arrested Wednesday. He is being held in the Linn County Correctional Center, awaiting his first appearance in court.
