Amana man arrested on charges of sex abuse

An Amana man was arrested Wednesday on charges that he sexually abused a teenage girl who was too intoxicated to consent, and sent videos of the abuse to other people over Snapchat.

Xavier Ashton Williams, 18, is charged with first-degree harassment and third-degree sexual abuse.

The abuse reportedly happened at a park and in a moving vehicle in Tiffin on June 12. The girl, who was intoxicated during the abuse, became aware of the incident the next day when she saw a video of the incident that had been circulated on Snapchat, according to a criminal complaint.

Williams was arrested early Wednesday morning and was released from the Johnson County Jail later that day, after posting a $15,000 surety bond. A no contact order has been filed on behalf of the girl.
