CEDAR RAPIDS — A 17-year-old was found shot and injured early Saturday in northeast Cedar Rapids but police said he won’t cooperate in their investigation and didn’t want to pursue charges.
Cedar Rapids police were called shortly before 1 a.m. to the 1100 block of Blairs Ferry Road NE, where officers found the young man in a parking lot outside businesses. He suffered what police described as non-life threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital.
“An investigator interviewed the victim at the hospital. The victim was uncooperative, would not provide any details into the shooting, and was not interested in pursuing charges,” police said in a news release.

Witnesses, however, told police a dark-colored sports utility may have been involved in the shooting. Authorities asked that anyone who has knowledge of the shooting call Cedar Rapids police investigators at (319) 286-5491.
