One person killed in single-vehicle crash in Linn County

One person died Thursday night in the single-vehicle crash in rural Linn County, according to a news release from the Linn County Sheriff’s Office.

First responders were called to the scene near the intersection of Linn-Johnson Road and 34th Street at 7:22 p.m. Thursday. They found a Nissan Altima that had lost control and hit a power line pole in a ditch on the side of the road.

The driver of the Nissan was pronounced dead at the scene. The individual was wearing a seat belt, the release states. No one else was in the vehicle.

The name of the deceased has not yet been released pending notification of family.
