One killed in ATV crash in Delaware County

MANCHESTER — One person was killed in an ATV crash in Delaware County Wednesday, according to an Iowa State Patrol crash report.

The four wheeler was traveling west on 240th Street, near Manchester, just after 3 p.m. Wednesday when the driver lost control and entered the ditch on the side of the road, the report states.

The ATV bottomed out and all the passengers were thrown from the vehicle. The report does not say how many people were riding on the ATV.

One of the riders was hit by the ATV and killed. The identities of the victim and the other riders have not been released.

The incident remains under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol. The Delaware County Sheriff’s Department, the Manchester Police Department and Regional Medical Center Ambulance all responded to the scene, the report states.
