Motorcyclist dies after hitting deer near Monticello

MONTICELLO — A motorcyclist died after colliding with a deer on a Jones County highway Wednesday evening, according to the Iowa State Patrol.
Jack Thomas Larrimore, 38, of Monticello, was driving a 1973 Honda motorcycle northwest on Highway 38, a couple of miles southeast of Monticello, about 5:30 p.m. when a deer entered the roadway.
The motorcycle struck the deer and came to rest on the shoulder. Larrimore was flown by air ambulance to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics but succumbed to injuries at the hospital, the release stated.
