A Missouri woman was killed Monday in a crash with two other vehicles in rural Poweshiek County, according to an Iowa State Patrol crash report.
Mary Cowan, 74, of Greencastle, Mo., was driving a 2014 Buick Encore on Highway 63 Monday afternoon, just north of Malcom. She was headed south and failed to stop at the intersection of Highway 6 and Highway 63, the report states.
Cowan’s car hit the back of a 2008 Chevy Silverado that was traveling west on Highway 6, being driven by Craig Plants, 37, of Brooklyn, Iowa. The collision pushed the back of the Silverado into the eastbound lane, where it and the Buick were hit by a semi-truck being driven by Steven Crow, 73, of Marengo.

All three vehicles came to rest on the side of the road, and the Buick caught fire. Cowan was killed in the crash. Crow was injured and taken in an ambulance to a nearby hospital, according to the report.
