Five separate crashes during the morning commute stalled traffic on Interstate 380 in Cedar Rapids Friday morning.
No serious injuries were reported in the chain-reaction wrecks. Traffic delays were reported in the southbound lanes for about 90 minutes until the wreckage was cleaned up around 8:15 a.m.
Police said a driver lost control around 6:45 a.m. due to frost in the southbound lanes near the Seventh Street exit, and the vehicle struck a concrete barrier near the median. Two vehicles stopped behind the crash, but a third vehicle swerved and rolled.

Traffic was slowed to a crawl at times. During the slowdown, three other crashes were reported in the southbound lanes near J Avenue, Glass Road and Blairs Ferry Road.
The driver of the car that rolled near Seventh Street was taken to St. Luke's Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police said. No other injuries were reported.
Snow plows applied brine on the bridges and ramps along I-380 to help with the frost, according to the Iowa DOT.
