Authorities release identity of Cedar Rapids man killed in Benton County head-on crash Sunday

The Iowa State Patrol has released the identity of a driver killed in a head-on crash Sunday in Benton County.

Tyler Rosenthal, 21, of Cedar Rapids, was driving a Honda CR-V west in the eastbound lanes of Highway 30 when his vehicle struck a Freightliner semi-trailer truck head-on at the 14th Avenue intersection, according to the crash report.

Both vehicles came to rest in the south ditch. Rosenthal was wearing a seat belt, the report stated.
