Hy-Vee entered a multiyear partnership with Google Cloud to “drive new and unique innovation for its customers,” the West Des Moines-based grocer said Wednesday.
Hy-Vee will use Google Cloud for its Hy-Vee Aisles Online platform that allows customers to shop online for groceries. Google Cloud also will affect Hy-Vee’s virtual dietitian services and vaccine scheduling system.
Aaron Weise, Hy-Vee’s co-chief operating officer, said the COVID-19 pandemic “accelerated” Hy-Vee’s implementation of “digital initiatives.”

“Google Cloud is helping us provide a unique and more personalized experience as we work to integrate all our digital platforms and look to further simplify the customer’s interaction with our services — whether that be in our aisles in person or online,” Wiese said in a news release.
Hy-Vee also expects Google Cloud services to lead to “future innovations” that improve the customer experience, according to the news release.
