MAQUOKETA — Strap on some snowshoes and enjoy a walk along the trails at Prairie Creek Recreation Area on Monday at 5 p.m. The initial full moon of a calendar year has been nicknamed the Wolf Moon, but some people call it the Ice Moon, or even the Moon after Yule. Regardless of the name, if there are clear skies, the moon can guide participants along the trails.
This event is free and open to the public. Snowshoes are provided and registration is required. Meet at the Prairie Creek Pavilion, 1215 East Summit St., Maquoketa. For more information or to register, contact Jackson County Conservation at (563) 652-3783 or email jess@jacksonccb.com.
