Public skate and donate event is Thursday at Xtream Arena in Coralville

CORALVILLE — Xtream Arena will be hosting Skate & Donate sponsored by T-Mobile on Thursday, where the public is invited to skate at Xtream Arena for one night only. Skating will be available from 6 to 8 p.m. Admission to ice skate is $10 and ice skate rental is $5. Tickets may be purchased online or in person at the Xtream Arena Box Office in advance of the event. Tickets purchased in advance will be guaranteed admission on the ice.

This event will kick off the start of the Holiday Health Drive to support the Coralville Community Food Pantry. If you bring an item to donate toward the Holiday Health Drive, your skate rental fee will be waived. Acceptable Holiday Health items are toilet paper, paper towels, diapers/baby wipes, shampoo and conditioner, soap and/or body wash, and feminine hygiene products. Each item brought will count for one ice skate rental fee waived.

In additional to items being collected during this event, items may be dropped off at the GreenState Family Fieldhouse from 8 a.m. to noon or 5 to 8 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays until Dec. 30.

The Coralville Community Food Pantry maintains a member-choice food distribution model: Any community member can visit the pantry once a week to freely select food and personal care items that best suit their unique needs.
