Fur Fun Rescue receives $1,000 grant

Donation comes from Petco Love foundation

LISBON — Fur Fun Rescue recently announced a grant investment from the newly named Petco Love to support their lifesaving work for dogs in Greater Cedar Rapids and Eastern Iowa.

“We are grateful to receive this grant to assist our veterinary care,” said Roxanne Hoover, Fur Fun Rescue’s Executive Director. “The Petco Love grant investment will help save the lives of dogs with life-threatening diseases and conditions such as parvovirus, pneumonia, and heartworm disease.”

Fur Fun Rescue is an all-volunteer, foster-based rescue that has been existence for more than six years. They take in pets and also transfer dogs throughout the Midwest and South and bring them to Iowa. Since its inception, Fur Fun has helped 1,683 dogs find their forever homes. Caring for dogs with medical needs has become a focus of their community outreach.

Since their founding in 1999 as the Petco Foundation, they’ve empowered organizations, like Fur Fun Rescue, with nearly $300 million invested to date in adoption and other lifesaving efforts.
