What differentiates successful women leaders from the pack? Is it because they are simply lucky, attended the top schools, know the right people or worked harder than anyone else? While no singular thing can guarantee success, one key skill can dramatically increase your positive results: Success Swagger.
For the past two years, I have been researching the dual concepts of success and swagger and their fusion into the dynamics of Women’s Success Swagger. Swagger typically is defined by a walk or strut with defiant confidence and possibly arrogance. Traditionally you may have associated swagger with John Wayne, Elvis Presley or Mick Jagger. In my surveys, women cited few female role models of authentic Success Swagger. Oprah, Queen Elizabeth, Lady Gaga? Yes, they made the list and cultivated their own Success Swagger. What about you?
Success Swagger can be learned and conjured up at will. Women with Success Swagger have learned to focus, visualize and take action on the success they desire. They have mastered both the confidence mindset game as well as the tactical ground game of success.

Examine areas of your life where you are already achieving outstanding results and are in the flow. Ask yourself, "Where am I naturally confident, successful and why do I feel that way? What skills and guiding principles do I have in these areas?" After thoughtful reflection, determine where and how you will transfer this natural or learned Success Swagger to other areas of your life. What would your life look like with more income, impact, love, boldness, moxie, power and aliveness? That’s your Success Swagger project!
Your Success Swagger Project
For the next 30 days notice and refuse to allow any negative, Success Swagger-draining thoughts to impact you. Any worries or doubts are thoughts from the past and are projected into your present and future. Get off the worry train and use thought-stopping techniques such as seeing a big red stop sign or saying "no" whenever your mind goes astray.
Take the first five to 10 minutes of your morning and create a mental movie of your ideal day filled with your Success Swagger. Use that precious time to anchor your intentions and use all of your senses to attune with an inspirational or sacred connection. Imagine the positive and enjoyable interactions with your family members, coworkers and clients. Visualize your meetings and activities in great detail and affirm their successful outcome. Create and practice a key word or phrase that helps you feel confident, calm and in control.
“I've got this, and I am successful” is my affirmation and key phrase that helps me handle anything that comes my way. Increase your confidence ground game by upgrading your skills, knowledge, health and the value you are providing in the global marketplace. Add one new word or business idea to your mental bank every day and your writing and speaking will exude excellence and confidence. And finally, get connected with a community of other Success Swagger women who will support you and your highest goals.
By consciously increasing your Success Swagger you can and will elevate yourself and those around you to higher levels of influence and impact! Remember, you’ve got this!
