Hy-Vee to be closed on Thanksgiving Day
Decision marks first time in chain’s history

Hy-Vee will close its more than 285 stores for Thanksgiving Day for the first time in its history, the West Des Moines-based retailer said in a news release.
The decision includes all Hy-Vee grocery stores, Dollar Fresh Markets, Hy-Vee Fast and Fresh, Wall to Wall Wine and Spirits, and Hy-Vee Wine and Spirits venues, the chain said.
Customers be able to pay at the pump for fuel at Hy-Vee Fast and Fresh stations.

“Thanksgiving Day is about gratitude,” Jeremy Gosch, Hy-Vee CEO and president, said in the release.
“The last several years have been some of the most challenging our employees have experienced and this is our way of showing our appreciation for everything they do on a daily basis to serve our customers.”
