A week after several residents of the small Benton County town of Keystone were notified they’re in violation of a city ordinance prohibiting pit bulls, Sheriff Ron Tippett says the notifications were verbal warnings only, and there is no plan to remove the dogs at this time.

The deadline to submit grant applications to the Benton County Community Foundation’s 2022 grant cycle is 5 p.m. March 15. Grants are awarded to projects within the program areas of arts and culture, community betterment, education and youth development, environment and animal welfare, health and human service.
