CEDAR RAPIDS — All-state Marion boys’ basketball guard Brayson Laube has committed to play for Division II Augustana University in South Dakota, he announced Monday.
Laube was a first-team all-state pick in Class 3A this past season by the Iowa Professional Sportswriters Association. He averaged 20 points per game in 2021-22 as a junior, helping the Wolves to the state tournament.
He scored 35 points in a quarterfinal overtime loss to Winterset.

“I chose Augustana because it is a great school that I think will be best for my future,” Laube said. ”I established a strong relationship with the coaches there really early, as well as it being an area in which I think fits for me.“
Augustana finished 26-4 this past season, losing to Northwest Missouri State in a round-of-16 Division II tournament game.
“Another reason I am not waiting and pulled the trigger (commitment wise) is I want to help the program as soon as I get there,” Laube said.
