Seventeen of the top area Iowa high school softball players to watch for 2022:

Ryleigh Allgood, jr., Lisbon — Compiled a 29-5 pitching mark with a 1.70 ERA last year. Struck out 257 and walked 72 in 214 innings. Hit .336 with 27 RBIs. Class 1A 1st-team all-state.

Alexis Barden, sr., Cedar Rapids Prairie — Batted .500 with 43 runs and 27 RBIs last year. 19 doubles and three home runs. Class 5A 2nd-team all-state.

Jordyn Beck, jr., Linn-Mar — Compiled a 13-4 pitching mark with a 0.96 ERA last year. Struck out 129 and walked 30 in 101 2/3 innings. Class 5A 2nd-team all-state.

Skylar Benesh, soph., North Linn — Batted .473 with 71 runs and 52 RBIs last year. 12 doubles and 14 home runs, and 43 stolen bases. Class 2A 1st-team all-state.

Maia Bentley, sr., Mount Vernon — Batted .504 with 49 runs and 46 RBIs last year. 14 doubles, seven triples and nine home runs. Stole 11 bases. Class 3A 1st-team all-state.

Duanna Coyle, jr., Cedar Rapids Xavier — Batted .439 with 37 runs and 38 RBIs last year. 11 doubles. Class 4A 1st-team all-state.

Peyton Driscoll, jr., Williamsburg — Compiled an 18-5 pitching mark with a 2.00 ERA last year. Struck out 206 and walked 76 in 153 2/3 innings. Hit .278 with four home runs and 14 RBIs. Class 3A 1st-team all-state.

Ellie Flanagan, jr., North Linn — Compiled a 24-2 pitching mark with a 2.10 ERA last year. Struck out 177 and walked 80 in 160 1/3 innings. Hit .367 with four home runs and 35 RBIs. Class 2A 1st-team all-state.

Peyton Johnson, jr., Marion — Batted .492 with 31 runs and 35 RBIs last year. 18 doubles and five home runs. Stole 25 bases. Class 4A 1st-team all-state.

Ella Koloc, sr., West Delaware — Batted .419 with 47 runs and 24 RBIs last year. 13 doubles and six home runs. Stole 15 bases. Class 4A 2nd-team all-state.

Kelsey Palmer, sr., Cedar Rapids Jefferson — Batted .400 with 44 runs last year. Class 5A 2nd-team all-state.

Sara Reid, sr., Central City — Compiled a 30-7 pitching mark with a 0.66 ERA last year. Struck out 333 and walked 15 in 222 2/3 innings. Hit .312 with six home runs and 62 RBIs. Class 1A 1st-team all-state.

Peyton Robinson, jr., Lisbon — Batted .425 with 59 runs and 39 RBIs last year. Eight doubles and four triples. Stole 20 bases. Class 1A 1st-team all-state.

Jenna Sprague, sr., Mount Vernon — Compiled a 27-3 pitching mark with a 1.20 ERA last year. Struck out 252 and walked 15 in 181 innings. Hit .378 with 12 doubles and 32 RBIs. Class 3A 1st-team all-state.

Nadia Telecky, sr., Mount Vernon — Batted .469 with 57 runs and 42 RBIs last year. 13 doubles, five triples and five home runs. Stole 35 bases. Class 3A 1st-team all-state.

Ashley Webb, jr., Clear Creek Amana — Compiled a 19-7 pitching mark with a 1.54 ERA last year. Struck out 199 and walked 23 in 181 2/3 innings. Hit .371 with 167 runs. Class 4A 2nd-team all-state.

Hilary Wilson, jr., Solon — Batted .548 with 65 runs and 47 RBIs last year. 18 doubles and seven home runs. Class 3A 1st-team all-state.
