Iowa all-state baseball 2022: 6 Gazette area preps on ‘Super’ team
Iowa City High gets 2 on top team in Cade Obermueller and Gable Mitchell

Six Gazette-area baseball players — including Iowa City High’s Cade Obermueller and Gable Mitchell — earned all-state “Super Team” honors from the Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association.
The IHSBCA released its all-state teams late Saturday night.
Cedar Rapids Prairie’s Cal Sullivan, Kennedy’s Dylan Davis, North Linn’s Austin Miller and Clear Creek Amana’s Ben Swails also earned “Super Team” honors.

Prairie’s Brandon Vicko earned first-team honors in Class 4A and Western Dubuque’s Isaac Then, Garrett Kadolph and Jake Goodman were first-team 3A picks, along with Marion’s Kaden Frommelt and Myles Davis, Solon’s Brett White and Independence’s Marcus Beatty.
Dyersville Beckman’s Owen Huehnergarth and Luke Schieltz, West Liberty’s Caleb Wulf, Anamosa’s Sam Wilt and Williamsburg’s Jake Weber were first-team picks in 2A, and Levi Crawford of Sigourney and Tyson Costa and Damon Weber of Lansing Kee were 1A honorees.
