Jack Fridley celebrated his 85th birthday on
Feb. 10. Jack was born and raised in Strawberry Point, Iowa. Following graduation from
Strawberry Point, he enlisted in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1958. While he was in the Army, Jack took classes from Coe College, finishing his Bachelor's Degree in 1962 and later
receiving his Master's Degree from Western New Mexico. In 1955 Jack married Pat
Fitzpatrick. His first teaching job was at South Clay in northwestern Iowa from 1962 to 1964. The couple returned to Strawberry Point in 1965 and he began teaching/coaching for the Starmont School District until his retirement in 1995.
Jack's three children are Mark and twins
Michelle and Mike. He has five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
