Marjorie Twaddle celebrated her 100th birthday on December 23, 2020. A virtual party was held for her and she was able to see and talk to many of her family members and friends via Zoom. They sang Happy Birthday and watched as she ate birthday cake. She raved that it was the best birthday she had ever had. She was also "showered" with cards from family and friends, from the governors of Iowa, Illinois, and Texas (where she currently lives), as well as President Trump.
Marjorie was married to Dean Twaddle (1921-2013) for 70 years. She lived in Marion for 52 years, then in the Keystones in Cedar Rapids for 6 years. They had been members of Indian Creek golf course and were members of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Marion. She recently moved to Forney, Texas, to live with her son, Mike. Marjorie and Dean have 5 children: Mike of Forney, Texas, Jim of Owatonna, Minn., Mark of Marshfield, Mo., Jeff of Rossville, Kan., and Janet Carpenter of Westminster, Colo. Their daughters-in-law and son-in-law are the late Mary (Mike), Connie (Jim), Adriane (Mark), Susan (Jeff), and Stuart Carpenter (Janet). Marjorie has 41 grandchildren and 55 great-grandchildren. She loves her family and beams with pride when she talks about her many grandchildren.
