DC's latest installment in the Justice League franchise will be the story of Aquaman. A hero who has strong ties to both land and sea.
In this way Jason Momoa, the film's leading man, feels a strong connection with his character. Being born in Hawaii and raised in Norwalk, Iowa.
On Saturday, Dec. 8, the actor will host SNL and join the ranks of only a handful of Iowans who have done so in the past.

Momoa has been excitedly posting about the opportunity on his Instagram account, sharing videos and promos for the episode. Using his past characters, like Khal Drogo from 'Game of Thrones', to entice fans to watch.
'I'm finally hosting SNL this week,' he said in an Instagram video. 'Please watch, otherwise I will have to wake up Drogo and he will come to your house ...'

Like Khal Drogo, Aquaman, who was previously seen in 'Justice League' (2017), is also a strong warrior character who knows his way around a battlefield. However, Momoa said he has connected with the character of Aquaman on a much higher level.
The character is torn between two different worlds, the surface world of his father who raised him and the Atlantian world of his mother.
Momoa was raised by a single parent and has stated in several interviews that his upbringing has been a source of inspiration for his portrayal of the character.
'Being Hawaiian, I'm a big fan of water — I feel a huge connection with the water. And being raised by a single parent,' Momoa said in an interview with A-list about his inspiration. 'Also, being born in Hawaii and raised in Iowa, two very different worlds much like Atlantis and the surface world.'
