Another case of the bird flu was confirmed Tuesday in a Hamilton County commercial turkey flock, the second outbreak in the north central Iowa county this year.
This marks the 15th case confirmed this year in Iowa, all of them striking after March 1. The first case in Hamilton County was confirmed March 28, also in a commercial turkey farm.
At least 13 millions turkeys and chickens have been euthanized this year in Iowa because of the disease. Experts believe the virus is primarily being spread by wild birds, particularly geese and ducks.
