Imagine sticking your hand into a witch’s caldron. What might you feel?
Squishy eyeballs? Coarse fingers, with rough pointy fingernails? Wiggling worms — or are those veins?
You can make your own witch’s brew to explore through touch with a few household items. When you’re finished, ask a friend or family member to close their eyes and guess the contents — if they dare.
What you need:
- A Ziploc bag
- Hair gel
- Food coloring
- Cooked spaghetti
- Peeled grapes
- Pistachio shells
- Any other items that could feel creepy (plastic spiders, pumpkin pulp, etc.)
1. Squeeze hair gel into the plastic bag, then add the dye color of your choice. Make sure the bag is zipped shut, then squeeze and manipulate the bag with your hands to push the dye around.
2. Make the ingredients for your witch’s brew. Peel the skin off grapes to make them feel like eyeballs, boil spaghetti to make slippery worms or veins, and press pistachio shells into pickles to make witch’s fingers. Look around your kitchen to discover other creepy things to add to your bag.
3. Dump the ingredients into the slime in the bag. Zip the bag shut and use your hands on the outside of the bag to mix everything together.
