When Earl the llama wears a unicorn horn, he becomes … the llamacorn. (The Gazette)
Animals of mythology are often combinations of the features of real creatures.
A griffin has the body and tail of a lion, and the head and wings of an eagle. A mermaid has the tail of a fish, and the upper body of a woman. A unicorn has the body of a horse, with a fanciful horn — maybe of a narwhal or rhino — on its head.
What other combinations can you think of? Choose two (or more) of the options below — or write your own — to create your own mythological beast. Then draw a picture of it!
Choose a body
- Body of a tiger
- Body of a dolphin
- Body of a bumblebee
- Body of an ostrich

Choose a face

- Antlers of moose
