Iowa Ideas 2020 replay: Make Your Vote Count

Oct 26, 2020 at 12:01 am

Whether it's COVID, voting by mail, ID laws, legal challenges to process, Iowa voters are having to work through a number of changes to cast their ballots in 2020. There's also an unprecedented number of legal challenges, and open discussion about the legitimacy of the election, too. What do you need to do to make sure your vote counts? What long-term impacts will all this have on the Democracy? What can be done to strengthen voting process? Are legal challenges the new normal? Our panel will discuss.

Panelists include: Paul Pate, Iowa Secretary of State; Chris Larimer, Professor of Political Science, University of Northern Iowa. Moderator: Craig Gemoules, The Gazette.

This session was part of the 2020 Iowa Ideas Conference presented by ITC and held Oct. 15-16, 2020. This session originally occurred at 10 a.m. on Oct. 15, 2020. The two-day conference hosted by The Gazette brings together policy makers, experts and community members passionate about the state's future. For more replays, visit iowaideas.com.
